TooFood is an innovative mobile and web platform aimed at reducing food waste by connecting consumers with local food businesses that have surplus stock. TooFood enables users to purchase discounted food that would otherwise go to waste, creating a sustainable solution that benefits both the environment and local communities. Background
TooFood was developed to tackle the pressing issue of food waste in Ukraine by offering an accessible and sustainable marketplace solution. As environmental awareness grows, TooFood fills an important role by enabling businesses to sell surplus food and consumers to access quality food at a reduced price. By bridging this gap, TooFood promotes sustainability, reduces waste, and supports local businesses and communities.
Timeline
Discovery Phase (1 month): Conducted initial research, gathered client requirements, and established a project roadmap aligned with TooFood’s vision.
Development Phase (8 months): Built the mobile app and web platform from the ground up, covering design, coding, and integration of essential features for a robust, scalable platform.

In this phase, we conducted market research and analyzed user needs to define project requirements. Working closely with the client, we established clear goals, set timelines, and outlined the app’s core features, ensuring an effective roadmap for development.
Our design team created wireframes and interactive prototypes, focusing on an intuitive user experience and visual appeal. Feedback from potential users was gathered to refine the design, ensuring that the platform would be engaging and easy to use for both consumers and vendors.
With a clear design in place, our developers began building the platform from scratch. This included developing the mobile app for iOS and Android, as well as creating a web-based dashboard for vendors to manage inventory. Back-End Solution
We used Node.js in combination with Strapi CMS to provide a robust and flexible back end that supports real-time inventory updates and scalable content management. This setup allowed TooFood’s team to manage listings and updates efficiently without technical expertise, giving them full control over platform content.
Front-End Solution
For mobile development, we used React Native to deliver a smooth, native-like experience across both iOS and Android. For the web management platform, we implemented Next.js, which provided TooFood with a fast, responsive, and customizable dashboard for managing listings, monitoring sales, and updating inventory.
Payment Integration
A secure and seamless payment gateway was integrated to handle high transaction volumes, ensuring that users could purchase food with ease and confidence.
Website Development
In addition to the app and management platform, we designed and developed a branded website for TooFood. The website serves as a key marketing tool, showcasing the platform’s features, allowing users to learn more about the product, and driving engagement through a modern, user-friendly interface.
